This helps to ensure that they make money as well as that the land they are farming is going to continue to be usable for crops. It also helps to ensure that the overall environment isn’t harmed from various chemicals.
In order for coffee to earn the label as organic, there has to be various guidelines that are met. First, no synthetic chemicals are used on the crops. This has to be a process that is followed for at least three years before the certification can take place. There must be some type of buffer zone in place too between the organic crops and those that aren’t. Finally, an agreement to rotate the crops so that the same soil isn’t used again and again is followed.
In order for coffee to be 100% organically produced, every aspect of it must follow that plan. This means from the planting of it to the actual packaging of the coffee beans. All of the coffee beans have to be separated from any type of synthetic fertilizer as well as separate containers used for them. Any roster must be purged for at least 15 minutes before organic beans are placed in it. Finally, the coffee beans can’t be transported by any means that also transports chemicals.
